July Newsletter
The meeting was called to order at 7:40pm.
Treasurer's Report : The treasurer's report was given. Ruthanne is going to check into
getting a discount from L&M for the 2 man gates and 10 panels that we still need to square of the far side opposite the
holding pens. And these will be up by the August show. Audrey had ordered the Trophies, has the
numbers, and we have a judge for our August show. 4-H will be doing concessions at the show.
Old Business :
PARADES: We had over 20 riders at all the parades so far.
Babbitt:*25 Aurora:*24** Gilbert:*26 Tower:*36 Hoyt Lake: (July 23)
Line up and park at the church at the end of main. Line up at 10am. (Starts at 11am). ** Some of us unknowingly parked
in the wrong spot for the Aurora parade.. We were suppose to park behind Plegmans. There is a little road right
before Plegman's, turn there and go to the end of it by the tree line, THANKS.
Any questions contact Chris Dale at 984-3215. Ed and Lisa are
going to do the Poop scooping at the Hoyt Lakes Parade. THANKS !!!! (Jessica got invited to go to Valley Fair
for her friends birthday, and has never been there.)
A few of us rode in the Ely Parade (not as the saddle club) and people really loved seeing the horses
again. We have been asked to write up a proposal to get paid for next year, so that the saddle club can ride in the
parade. And for parking we are looking at Miners drive or behind the cemetery by the Baseball fields. Miners drive
in a little further and we would have to cross the main road where the parade is, but it is grassy and nice there. Over
by the baseball fields behind the cemetery is all gravel and about a 4-5 block ride to the parade lineup, and we would
have to ask Forest Concrete for permission, but Ruthanne does not think this will be a problem.
RAFFLE: If you would like to sell some raffle tickets to raise money for the saddle club, Audrey
has them. The person who sells the most tickets will get a very nice black and silver bridal with matching rains.
Here are what has been turned in so far. Ruthanne - 70 Audrey - 50 Lisa
- 30 JoAnn - 20 Martins -10
Keep selling those tickets!!
Just a reminder, any help setting up games or putting up a pole, jump, cone, barrel, ect after it has
been knocked down would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks to all of you that have helped with this in the past.
Concessions this year are putting up cones were they are going to be, so please do not park there.
It worked great at the July Playday... They get nervous with the horses coming up to concessions, so if you could go
on foot it would be appreciated, thanks.
St. Judes Ride: We raised $626 (and had 29 riders) for St. Judes Children Hospital, from
our spring ride. The top fund raiser was Emma Fox (she raised $91) and she will receive a bridal and matching reins
from the saddle club.. GOOD JOB Emma!!!

up, or contact Audrey and she will get that to you. Thanks!!
When the timer messes up for whatever reason and we need the person to complete their run again it is for the time
only, as they already completed the run once correctly, and it is not their fault that they have to do it over. Meaning
that if they knock down a jump, or pole or barrel (or whatever) they still get a time.
We are going to be putting up ribbon between the bleachers, please do not park here... This area
is for people to sit. And please do not park by the timer car. And please do not put chairs and sit right by where
we go in or out of the holding pens.

We've been having a little trouble with some following them, and they will start to be enforced. This is for everyone's
safety!! Thanks!
